Job summary

RTX is seeking a skilled welder for a second shift onsite position in Wilson, NC. The role involves setting up GTAW equipment, welding thin-gauge materials, inspecting welds, and repairing as required. Training may be provided for first shift duties.

You’ll join a safety-conscious team with opportunities to learn advanced welding techniques, equipment handling, and QA procedures in a high-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; 1+ year GTAW welding experience.
• 1+ year welding fabrication experience.
• Able to pass a visual acuity test.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate GTAW welding equipment per drawings and WPS ranges.
• Clean filler and base materials using tools and solvents before welding.
• Perform welding operations on thin-gauge materials (e.g., 4130 steel, stainless, aluminum, titanium).
• Inspect welds to criteria using calipers, micrometers, borescopes and gages; repair as needed.
• Follow safety, EH&S, ethics and trade compliance; maintain clean work area.
• Assist in training other welders and operate computer-controlled welding equipment as needed.
