Job summary

Huntey’s Clubhouse in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Associate Teacher to support early childhood learning in a nurturing setting. Assist with curriculum implementation, maintain safety, and collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher to communicate with families.

You will help children grow socially, emotionally, and physically through guided activities and positive guidance, while meeting licensing requirements and participating in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDA in Preschool or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education required.
• Experience with children preferred but not required.
• Must meet all state licensing requirements for GSRP associate teachers.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within designated timeframe.
• Ability to actively engage with children and lift up to 30–40 pounds.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with families and staff.
• Commitment to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• · High School Diploma or GED required.


• · Child Development Associate (CDA) in Preschool or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required.


• · Previous experience working with children in a childcare, school, or youth program setting is preferred but not required.


• · Must meet all state licensing requirements for GSRP associate teachers.


• · CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within a designated timeframe after hire).


• · Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day, including sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities. Must be able to lift up to 30–40 pounds.


• · Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and staff.


• · Patient, nurturing, dependable, and flexible with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
