Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Director, Growth Planning to own how the company decides where to invest and govern growth initiatives from approval to value realization. You will build the business cases behind major investments and run the governance that tracks them to delivered value.

You will partner with Finance, Sales, and Product to align inputs and drive cross-functional collaboration, with a track record of influencing senior leaders and coaching analytics teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in strategy, corporate planning, FP&A, corporate development, or consulting.
• Strong financial modeling and scenario analysis skills.
• Experience running governance processes like investment committees or planning councils.
• History influencing C-suite and VP-level stakeholders across functions.
• Structured, consulting-style problem solving and clear written & verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the business case process for major growth and investment initiatives, including revenue, cost, payback and risk assumptions.
• Set standards and templates for business cases for comparability and decision-readiness.
• Run governance cadence for planning and investment reviews, including agenda, rights, escalation, and follow-through.
• Track progress against targets, report variances and realized benefits to leadership, and recommend course corrections.
• Lead trade-off discussions with senior stakeholders to drive decisions with clarity and ownership.
• Partner with Finance, Sales and Product to validate inputs behind each case and alignment with the broader plan.
• Prepare executive materials and narratives for planning cycles and leadership reviews.
• Build and mentor a small team of planning and analytics talent.
