Job summary

Report Local, a remote-first nonprofit supporting local journalism, seeks a Director of Growth and Strategic Partnerships. You will drive new revenue by building a national network of funders and strategic partners, expanding geographic and thematic initiatives, and translating program strengths into investable opportunities.

You will work closely with the Chief Development Officer, CEO, and development team to cultivate relations and close significant investments, while traveling as needed

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of progressive experience in business development, partnerships, external relations, or strategic partnerships.
• Proven ability to identify, cultivate, and close partnerships with funders, corporations, and other sponsors.
• Entrepreneurial and strategic thinker with strong opportunity focus.
• Excellent collaboration and ability to navigate executive leadership and program teams.
• Strong project management and CRM/pipeline analytics experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a pipeline of new funders and strategic partners across foundations, corporations, and other sources of philanthropic investment.
• Identify prospects aligned with Report Local's strategic priorities and expand markets.
• Lead introductory and cultivation meetings with senior leaders to advance opportunities.
• Develop funding requests, partnership concepts, and materials to close significant investments.
• Coordinate with leadership to translate strategy into fundable opportunities and manage the pipeline.
