Job summary

Lawrence Public Schools in Massachusetts is seeking exceptional Math teachers for the Upper School Academy. The position is full-time and non-exempt, reporting to the Principal, with a focus on mastering standards, equity, and student growth.

Ideal candidates will have strong middle school math knowledge, ability to design engaging lessons, collaborate with staff, and use data to guide instruction while aligning with MA Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Mathematics or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• SEI endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience preferred, especially in urban public schools.
• Experience working with diverse learners, including English Language Learners.
• Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be a strong, positive force daily in the classroom, motivate students to learn.
• Design, implement, and collaborate around high-quality curricula aligned to MA and Common Core standards.
• Motivate students to achieve high by setting goals and giving actionable feedback.
• Build supportive relationships with fellow teachers and staff; mentor associate teachers.
• Engage in weekly professional development and coaching with administration and colleagues.
• Embrace school-wide systems to ensure consistency in learning culture and routines.
• Use behavior systems to establish strong classroom culture and high expectations.
• Support advisory relationships with up to 14 students and promote Spark values.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
