Job summary

Winston Staffing Services in New Jersey is seeking a skilled accounting professional to support month-end close, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and analyze P&L with supporting schedules. You will review vendor accruals, handle bank and credit card reconciliations, record fixed assets (CIP, depreciation, amortization), assist AP with invoice coding, and prepare state sales/use tax returns and year-end 1099s.

Knowledge of US GAAP and Navision is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 2+ years accounting experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with Navision.
• Retail industry exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close and journal entries.
• Balance sheet reconciliation and P&L analysis with supporting schedules.
• Review vendor activities to determine accruals for the month.
• Bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Record fixed assets including CIP, depreciation, and amortization.
• Work with accounts payable to ensure proper invoice coding.
• Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns for various states.
• Prepare 1099s at year end.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on day-to-day operations.
• Assist external financial audit activities.
• Support special projects as needed.
