Job summary

Salesforce is seeking Staff & Principal Product Data Scientists to shape the data ecosystem that informs product decisions across PDE and GTM teams. You will help design Slack's agentic data delivery platform and drive data-driven strategies that influence product direction and success.

You will partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to define landscapes, measure success, and iterate boldly in a collaborative, inclusive culture that values curiosity and impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product data science in tech industries.
• Proven ability to drive product teams using data and influence company outcomes.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one data-science programming language (Python, R, or Scala).
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow is highly desirable.
• Experience with large-scale data tech (Spark, Presto, Hive, Hadoop) and strong communication to executives.

Responsibilities

• Establish partnerships with product stakeholders to identify opportunities and prioritize roadmaps.
• Evangelize evidence-based decision making and improve data accessibility.
• Evaluate drivers for adoption of Slack product capabilities using data.
• Build frameworks for key success metrics and self-serve reporting.
• Prototype data models and collaborate with Data Engineering to form canonical sources of truth.
• Contribute to the design and deployment of Slack's agentic data delivery platform.
• Identify product opportunities to improve user experiences and business value.
• Collaborate with Product Researchers to align roadmaps and projects.

Education

BS in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Physics)

MS or PhD in a related field
