Job summary

Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance, is seeking a Claims Analyst for its Primary Casualty division in Chicago. The role involves evaluating, investigating, and resolving casualty claims while interacting with insureds, brokers, and legal teams to ensure proactive, fair handling in line with company guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 1–5 years of casualty claims experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and a willingness to obtain required licensing within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
• 1–5 years of claims experience in casualty insurance preferred.
• Licensing within 6 months of hire; strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and process primary casualty claims including general and product liability.
• Investigate to determine coverage, liability, and damages; gather documentation.
• Communicate with insureds, claimants, brokers, and legal counsel; negotiate settlements.
