Job summary

Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance, seeks a Claims Analyst for the Primary Casualty team. You will support evaluation, investigation, and resolution of casualty claims, interacting with insureds, brokers, legal representatives, and internal partners.

The role emphasizes analytical rigor, attention to detail, and clear communication; prior casualty claims experience helps but a strong learning aptitude is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
• 1–5 years of claims experience within casualty insurance preferred.
• Basic understanding of primary casualty concepts, policy language, and regulatory requirements.
• Licensing within 6 months of hire.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and process primary casualty claims.
• Conduct investigations to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
• Communicate with insureds, claimants, brokers, legal counsel, and vendors.
• Maintain accurate claim files and documentation.
• Prepare reports and summaries on claim status for management.
• Identify potential fraudulent claims and escalate as needed.
• Contribute to claims process improvement and compliance initiatives.
• Ensure timely and professional responses to inquiries.
