United States Digital Space LLC in New York is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a growing group of software engineers. You will act as a player-coach, balance hands-on coding with strategic oversight, and mentor staff to deliver high-impact features for customers.

You will set priorities, coordinate with product and design, and drive the team’s roadmap while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer working on production web applications.
• 1+ year of experience managing a team of engineers.
• Strong communication skills with ability to grasp and explain complex concepts.
• High levels of empathy and interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of core web development technologies and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers as a player-coach, coordinating projects and priorities.
• Mentor engineers to grow technical skills and foster excellence.
• Drive sound technical decision-making and cross-team collaboration.
• Grow and retain a high-performing engineering team.
• Define and execute the team's long-term strategy and quarterly roadmap.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Design and Product Managers to plan and ship features.
• Promote empathy and user-focused workflow improvements.
