Jonus Group is seeking an experienced Production Binding Underwriter specializing in Commercial and Personal Lines in the Boston area. The role offers the opportunity to inherit an established book with revenue potential and strong agent relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting or brokerage experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing with ability to build client relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or comparable designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and grow a book of business through new business production and renewals.
• Manage agency relationships and serve as the primary client contact.
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive business growth.
• Rate, quote, and bind risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for complex renewals and new business.
• Submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities and management.
• Monitor key performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve new business hit rates, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios.
• Lead, train, and mentor Assistant and Associate Underwriters.
