Applegreen USA Welcome Centers in New Jersey seeks an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in daily operations and to develop a capable management team. The role provides entry-level managers with opportunities to learn essential management skills and make sound judgments.

The position emphasizes leadership, customer service excellence, and adherence to brand standards while driving performance and guest satisfaction across busy travel plazas.

Qualifications

• Passionate about helping people learn and grow the business.
• Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with a sharp business acumen
• 2+ years experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations
• Flexible and open work schedule
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Supervise day-to-day operations of non-management associates, assign tasks, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale.
• Maintain brand standards and ensure procedures are followed.
• Ensure store looks clean, inviting, and adheres to brand standards.
• Manage cash daily and deliver reports as directed.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to foster long-term relationships.
• Verify inventory accuracy via spot counts.
