Job summary

onX is seeking a Director of Growth Engineering to lead growth-focused software initiatives across iOS, Android, and Web. This role blends strategic vision with technical leadership to scale the growth platform, drive user acquisition, activation, and conversion, and maximize ARR and LTV while upholding engineering excellence.

You'll oversee backend, mobile, and web teams, champion rapid experimentation, and collaborate with Marketing, Data, and Product to align efforts with company goals.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical leadership across growth teams in mobile and web environments.
• Experience coordinating with marketing, product, and engineering teams.
• Track record of instituting SDLC practices in high-velocity environments.
• Experience managing complex subscription lifecycles and payment integrations.
• Ability to mentor technical leaders and drive hiring, performance reviews, and career progression.
• Strong understanding of experimentation methodologies, including A/B testing and instrumentation.
• Curiosity for exploring new technologies, including AI.
• Demonstrated alignment with OnX values and culture.
• US work authorization is required.

Responsibilities

• Define and articulate a multi-year Growth Engineering Strategy aligned with corporate goals.
• Facilitate long-term engineering strategies in partnership with Product.
• Collaborate with Marketing to optimize the marketing stack strategy.
• Champion an innovation-led culture with robust A/B testing infrastructure.
• Oversee design and evolution of scalable, secure growth systems.
• Drive personalization engineering and data warehousing enhancements.
• Own the SDLC and establish operational excellence foundations.
• Lead and develop Engineering Managers and Software Engineers across backend, mobile, and Web.
• Partner with UA/MA teams to align engineering with campaign goals.
• Coordinate with Data Engineering and BI to ensure accurate growth metrics.
