Job summary

NBT Bank seeks a Home Lending Originator to drive mortgage and home equity applications. You will grow our network by engaging realtors and builders, presenting products, and guiding clients from application to closing with strong regulatory compliance.

The role requires an associate degree and mortgage experience; evening/weekend hours and travel up to 50% are expected. A robust benefit package accompanies this field-based position.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business or related discipline and two years’ experience in sales or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years mortgage or lending experience preferred.
• NMLS Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans and participate in business development activities; build a network of outside referral sources.
• Meet with prospects; explain mortgage products and offer recommendations based on needs.
• Negotiate terms and conditions within approved authority and assist in closings.
• Obtain and analyze financial and credit data; prepare and process forms for underwriting and regulatory purposes.
