Job summary

Valley Bank in New Milford, NJ seeks a Relationship Banker to grow branch business by deepening existing relationships and acquiring new ones through proactive sales and cross selling. You will provide exceptional service and actively promote the bank's products and services.

Responsibilities include opening new accounts, discussing loan products, promoting online banking, and supporting staff with compliance and cash handling. Community involvement is encouraged and expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, with at least 1 year in customer service, retail sales or cash handling.
• Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, economics or related field.
• FIS/IBS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Grow branch business by deepening existing relationships and acquiring new customers through sales execution, lead management and cross selling.
• Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with the bank's mission.
• Maintain knowledge of bank products and educate customers to cross-sell effectively.
• Open new accounts (checking, savings, CDs, IRAs) and discuss/sell loan products.
• Promote online and mobile banking capabilities.
• Meet customer expectations and support service quality; assist management in coaching staff.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and balance cash drawer using tellers’ equipment.
• Serve as Vault Teller and manage currency/coin orders within limits.
• Participate in community events and CRA initiatives.
