Job summary

Flour Bakery + Cafe in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Front-of-House Shift Lead to work closely with management, model hospitality, and support staff to run shifts with excellence.

Requirements include 1 year of food-service experience, supervisory background, 30–40 hours per week with at least one weekend shift, and a commitment of at least one year. Compensation starts around $21–$25 per hour with a base of $16 and pooled tips. Must maintain grooming standards and provide excellent guest service.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional food service experience.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with cash registers and espresso equipment.
• Availability for 30–40 hours per week, including at least one weekend shift.
• Strong hospitality and customer service skills; team player.
• Commitment of at least 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Be the model of hospitality in the bakery.
• Help maintain a positive team environment.
• Provide open communication with management about store operations and ideas for improvement.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization; assign roles as needed.
• Act as cash controller for shifts, ensuring accuracy of transactions.
• Be knowledgeable with catering orders and delivery system.
• Execute store openings and closings with teammates.
• Deliver food and beverage orders to guests in dining room.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and know escalation paths.
• Assist other departments as needed; we are one team.
