Job summary

SecureSpace Self Storage in Oregon seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager and leadership team in achieving store goals. You will help drive sales, manage customer interactions, and oversee daily operations including security, cleanliness, and maintenance.

The role requires at least 1 year in storage/retail/hospitality, strong English communication, and a customer-service mindset. You may travel occasionally to other locations; weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in storage, retail, or hospitality.
• Strong use of English in verbal and written communication.
• Provides consistent support to the Store Manager and acts as a backup.
• Customer service mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Identifies potential maintenance, safety, and fire issues.
• Operates roll-up doors for storage units; occasional travel to other locations.
• Skilled in resolving conflicts and addressing issues quickly.

Responsibilities

• Promote unit rentals, warranties, and moving supplies to surpass sales targets.
• Guide new customers through the rental process for smooth transactions.
• Reach out to potential clients to confirm moving dates and unit readiness.
• Manage past-due tenant accounts and assist with lien/auction paperwork.
• Provide exceptional customer service and address client needs.
• Conduct daily property inspections to maintain security, cleanliness, and upkeep including locks and lighting.
• Perform light gardening and general maintenance with power tools.
• Use cleaning and maintenance chemicals to keep property aesthetic.
• Communicate updates and recommendations to Store Manager and Leadership Team.
• Travel to nearby locations for scheduled shifts as needed.
• Maintain flexibility for weekend and holiday work.
