Job summary

Axios is seeking an Associate Director for Local Client Partnerships. This remote role targets growth in local markets by acquiring new partners and expanding current accounts.

You’ll own territory strategy, build a robust pipeline, and close deals with local advertisers, reporting to the Managing Director of Regional Client Partnerships. The position emphasizes hunting new business, cross-functional collaboration, and travel to represent Axios in-market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in sales, specifically digital media/news, focused on outbound/new business development
• Proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets
• Experience selling to senior decision-makers
• Experience developing territory or category-level sales strategies
• Understanding of digital media, online marketing tech, and Axios landscape
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and leading deal execution
• Existing relationships within local/regional advertiser ecosystems preferred
• Highly motivated, resilient, and energized by prospecting and closing
• Willingness to travel and represent Axios in-market

Responsibilities

• Own and grow a local territory by executing an outbound sales strategy targeting net-new revenue
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline through prospecting, networking, and market engagement
• Identify, prioritize, and win new business with local and regional advertisers, leading the full sales cycle from outreach to close
