Job summary

PTS Advance, a Florida-based Design-Build firm, seeks a Director of Business Development to lead growth across multiple sectors including mixed-use, retail, residential and hospitality. The role offers high visibility, autonomy, and collaboration with executives and project teams to convert opportunities into signed work.

The ideal candidate has 7–10+ years in BD within AEC, a strong Florida network, and proven success in pursuing $10M+ projects.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of progressive business development, client development, or sales leadership experience in architecture, design-build, or construction
• Proven track record of generating and closing new business in the AEC industry
• Strong existing network of developers, owners, brokers, and municipal stakeholders in Florida (Central Florida preferred)
• Experience leading proposal and pursuit strategy for projects $10M+
• Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable operating with autonomy and driving strategy independently

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to drive new client acquisition and revenue growth
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new development, ownership, and institutional client relationships
• Build and manage a pipeline of prospective projects across target sectors
• Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
• Lead proposal strategy, positioning, and content development for pursuits
• Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations and pitch materials
• Collaborate with architecture and construction leadership on qualifications packages, RFP/RFQ responses, and interview strategy
• Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities across target sectors
• Provide leadership with market feedback to inform service offerings and growth priorities
• Help shape the firm's brand positioning and go-to-market strategy
• Partner closely with architecture, preconstruction, and construction leadership to align pursuit with delivery
• Support conceptual budgeting and early project scoping discussions during the pursuit phase
• Provide input into fee structuring and contract strategy
