Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Lead Data Scientist for SMB Ads Growth in San Francisco. You will architect the analytics function end-to-end, driving strategy across targeting, funnel optimization, and performance forecasting to inform cross-functional decisions in marketing, product, and sales engineering.

You will own full-funnel analytics, build propensity models, segmentation architectures, and attribution frameworks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science or growth analytics within ads platform, marketplace, or high-growth B2B environment.
• Proven track record of deploying machine learning models (propensity, LTV) that moved business metrics.
• Strong SQL; proficient in Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Establish foundational growth metrics and North Star KPIs for SMB Ads ecosystem, optimizing from lead acquisition to retention.
• Diagnose funnel friction points and quantify revenue impact of optimizations.
• Partner cross-functionally to convert data findings into actionable roadmaps for product and marketing.
