Job summary

Plains Grain & Agronomy Cooperative is seeking a self-motivated agronomy sales professional to build strong customer relationships while providing agronomic expertise and selling crop inputs and related services.

You will develop and maintain relationships with farmers, identify needs, and recommend solutions across seed, fertilizer, and crop protection products while supporting growers to maximize production and profitability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field.
• Experience in agricultural sales or agronomy.
• Knowledge of crop production, fertilizer, seed, crop protection.
• Excellent communication and sales skills.
• Valid driver's license and travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with farmers and agricultural producers.
• Identify customer needs and recommend agronomic solutions.
• Sell seed, fertilizer, crop protection products, and precision agriculture services.
• Conduct field scouting and evaluating crop conditions.
• Provide recommendations based on soil tests, crop performance, and local growing conditions.
• Meet or exceed sales goals and business objectives.
• Prepare sales plans, quotes, and product recommendations.
• Stay current on new products, technologies, and industry trends.
• Collaborate with internal agronomists, applicators, operations staff, and suppliers to ensure excellent customer service.
• Participate in customer meetings, field days, and community events.
• Combination of office, field, and customer-site work.
• Seasonal workload may require extended hours during planting and harvest.
