Job summary

UNITED COOPERATIVE seeks an experienced Agricultural Sales Specialist to provide value-added recommendations to growers, aiming to boost crop yields and cooperative market share. You will drive sales, service, reporting, and maintain a team-focused image with customers.

Responsibilities include promoting fertilizer, crop nutrition, crop protection products, seeds and seed treatments, implementing sales plans, visiting fields, and using Ag Tech tools to improve efficiency. Travel will be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, agriculture, or related field; five-plus years total experience preferred.
Two-plus years outside sales with persuasive negotiation skills required.
Effective written and verbal communication; ability to travel and work outside in various conditions.

Responsibilities

Promotes and coordinates the sale of fertilizer, crop nutrition products, crop protection products, seed, and seed treatments to maximize yield.
Implements marketing and sales plans; establishes and meets sales goals; networks with industry reps to expand opportunities.
Scout fields for diseases and pests; provide seed, fertilizer, and chemical recommendations to optimize ROI.
Maintain and grow a customer base of agricultural clients through proactive service and business development.
Contact prospective or current customers through scheduled appointments and cold calls; submit weekly sales reports.
Report competitive information and strategies to management; stay informed on industry trends and products.
Develop knowledge of products and crop management to better assist producers; comply with credit policy; attend trainings and sales meetings.
