Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Group Product Manager for NextGenApply. This remote-friendly, full-time role leads a small PM team, owns one or more NextGen solutions end to end, and shapes the portfolio strategy with a focus on AI-enabled workflows for higher education institutions and students.

You will collaborate across engineering, design, sales, and client support, driving outcomes, and ensuring releases meet regulatory and accessibility standards. Strong leadership and strategic vision are essential.

Qualifications

6+ years of product management experience shipping products yourself
1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers
Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products
Track record of shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software with measurable business impact
Ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions
Experience in higher education technology, fintech, payments, or B2B2C platforms preferred

Responsibilities

Hands-On Product Ownership: own one or more NextGen solutions end to end—from discovery to shipping with engineering and design
Lead and grow a team of Product Managers with coaching and clear expectations
Own product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio
Cross-Functional Collaboration with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan launches and ensure market readiness
