Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a production operations leader to manage the METRO Facility, overseeing production operations for laminated vinyl extrusions, material handling, and facilities.

You will lead shop floor, develop production plans to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets, and coach Lead employees while promoting safety and continuous improvement across PSQDCI, TPS, and OTD initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with one to three years’ manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; window and door industry preferred
• Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and production operations
• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience developing people, driving accountability, and improving team performance
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred
• Experience with ERP systems and timekeeping platforms such as UKG is a plus
• Regular availability of 40–50 hours per week, including weekends (FRI/SAT/SUN/MON or THUR/FRI/SAT/SUN)

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shop floor operations in alignment with established processes, procedures, and company standards
• Develop and execute production plans to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
• Liaise between leadership and hourly teams to ensure clear, timely communication and alignment
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for Lead employees and their teams
• Promote and enforce safety culture, deliver hands-on training, and ensure EHS compliance
• Identify risks, drive corrective actions, and maintain accountability through safety reporting systems
• Manage labor, materials, resources, capacity planning, and workforce allocation
• Drive performance across PSQDCI, TPS, OTD, and Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Partner with plant leadership to monitor performance, improve processes, and achieve operational goals
• Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained for reliable operation, including preventative maintenance programs
• Identify and implement process, equipment, and facility improvements
• Report directly to the METRO Value Stream Manager

• Manage production operations for preparing, laminating, testing, and repackaging laminated vinyl extrusions
• Manage receiving, storing, counting, and delivery of raw materials used to make vinyl windows
• Lead daily shop floor operations in alignment with established processes, procedures, and company standards
• Develop and execute production plans to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
• Liaise between leadership and hourly teams to ensure clear, timely communication and alignment
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for Lead employees and their teams

Requirements

• Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with ERP systems and timekeeping platforms such as UKG is a plus
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing equipment and tools preferred
• Willingness to be hands‑on in supporting training, coaching, and daily operations
• Availability for weekend shifts (FRI/SAT/SUN/MON or THUR/FRI/SAT/SUN), ten hours per day
• Availability for at least one additional partial day for split‑shift training, process development, and special projects
• Regular availability of 40–50 hours per week
