Jobtailor in Roanoke Rapids, NC is seeking an experienced manufacturing supervisor to support floor operations, drive production planning, and maintain safety and quality standards. You will lead daily activities, coordinate with group leaders, and oversee on-time delivery, maintenance, and productivity initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing, with lean and MRP knowledge, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a track record of reducing scrap and optimizing

Qualifications

  • High school graduate; 4-year degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience.
  • Alternatively, 2+ years of formal technical training beyond high school and 3-5 years of supervision.
  • Proven ability in conflict resolution.
  • Basic knowledge of environmental, health and safety issues.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Working knowledge of MRP and related systems.
  • Experience with time and attendance systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Support efficient operation of the manufacturing floor.
  • Prepare annual sales forecasts including costs, value, delivery schedules, gross profit, and budgets.
  • Conduct safety audits, develop action plans, provide EHS progress reports, and deliver required employee training.
  • Plan and direct daily department activities, directly or through group leaders.
  • Manage order-processing flow to meet on-time delivery and lead-time goals.
  • Identify maintenance issues and ensure breakdown, scheduled, and preventive maintenance are completed; close work orders daily.
  • Recommend staffing changes and overtime to meet production requirements.
  • Requisition tools, fixtures, spare parts, and raw materials.
  • Monitor and improve productivity year over year.
  • Ensure product quality, reduce scrap, participate in scrap meetings, and conduct Control Plan audits.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Prepare and submit monthly update reports to the department manager.
  • Participate in ISO audits and address corrective action requests.
  • Conduct quarterly communication meetings for assigned work centers.
  • Maintain employee time and attendance records, counsel employees regarding performance, complete annual appraisals, and arrange training.

Requirements
