Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned operations leader to head 1st-shift Manufacturing and Incoming Quality Control (IQC) in Marana, AZ. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, and coordinating personnel and equipment to meet delivery, safety, and productivity goals, while overseeing the release of incoming materials.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant, preferably regulated, experience with 3 years of direct people leadership, Lean/MCI proficiency, and strong problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain, Science, Engineering/Engineering Technology, or Life Science (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a regulated environment.
  • 3 years of direct people leadership experience.
  • Quality Control lab experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read engineering blueprints and interpret GD&T symbols.
  • Conceptual knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, digital tools, and process workflows.
  • Preferred experience utilizing Google Suite.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and documentation skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead 1st-shift manufacturing and IQC operations.
  • Plan and schedule manufacturing and IQC activities, allocating personnel and equipment to meet delivery, safety, and productivity goals
  • Oversee inspection and release of incoming materials
  • Manage Material Review Board (MRB) Hold and IQC Hold areas
  • Partner with Technical Supplier Management, Supplier Quality, Procurement, Warehouse, Engineering, and Metrology to resolve quality issues
  • Ensure GMP and QSR compliance
  • Maintain training compliance and represent Manufacturing and IQC during audits
  • Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives including standard work, 5S, Kaizen, and root-cause analysis
  • Reduce process variation, optimize inspection cycle times, and eliminate waste
  • Maintain and analyze operational metrics including Right First Time, material release times, CAPA/nonconformance resolutions, and scrap rates
  • Recruit, train, coach, and mentor direct reports using servant-leadership principles
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Manufacturing, IQC, Technical Supplier Management, Supplier Quality, Procurement, Warehouse, Engineering, and Metrology

Job description

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain, Science, Engineering/Engineering Technology, or a Life Science discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a regulated industry
  • 3 years of direct people leadership experience
  • Quality Control lab experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Ability to read engineering blueprints/part drawings and interpret GD&T symbols
  • Conceptual knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, digital tools, and process workflows
  • Preferred experience utilizing Google Suite
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and root-cause analysis skills
  • High attention to detail and good documentation practices in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of leadership, build cross-functional relationships, and present decision-points effectively
  • Proactive self-starter with a team-builder attitude
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and lead direct reports through coaching, open communication, and servant leadership principles
