Job summary

The Opportunity Tree in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist Residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in developing basic living skills and promoting independence within group homes.

You will supervise health and safety, coordinate daily activities, and help manage transportation and medication procedures within the Person-Centered Plan. This role emphasizes communication, reliability and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Valid driver license with non-restricted MVR.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Experience in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) field preferred.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Willingness to travel and adherence to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Support Members with IDD in developing basic living skills and promoting independence.
• Supervise Members’ health, safety, and daily living activities.
• Coordinate instruction and supervision of daily living skills and recreational events per Person-Centered Plan.
• Encourage Members to develop positive interpersonal skills.
• Coordinate transportation and accompany Members as needed per plan.
• Ensure proper medication procedures and physician orders are followed; monitor progress.
