Job summary

Embracelifeservices is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide personalized care for individuals with developmental disabilities in family homes and the community. The role includes assisting with daily living, mobility, medication administration (where trained), and promoting independence.

Applicants should be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, and obtain fingerprint clearance in Arizona. CPR/First Aid and related certifications are required or obtainable, with experience in IDD

Qualifications

• A minimum of 18 years of age.
• A High School diploma or GED.
• Arizona State level one fingerprint clearance.
• Certifications in CPR/First Aid, Article 9, and Prevention and Support.
• Experience with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Support mobility and transfers with adaptive equipment as needed.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document accordingly (if trained).
• Provide companionship and emotional support while promoting independence and self-advocacy.
• Help individuals practice life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and communication.
• Encourage community involvement and social interactions.
• Follow Positive Behavior Support strategies and ensure a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress notes, and incidents.
