Job summary

Greater Texoma Utility Authority is seeking a Field Technician to provide field services across North Texas and Red River Groundwater Conservation Districts. You will interact with well owners, perform site visits and inspections, and monitor groundwater levels using GPS and metering devices.

The role requires strong communication, data entry in Excel and district knowledge. Travel is frequent, and you may work outside in all weather; the position is full-time and in-person within the GTUA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Desirable coursework or experience in water, environmental, or geology related field.
• Experience with water systems or drilling helpful but not required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and databases.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Contact and interact with well owners and drillers.
• Schedule and perform water well site visits and inspections using flow meters and GPS.
• Monitor groundwater level networks and use Excel for data entry.
• Enter and interpret data in online databases and Excel.
• Learn District rules and management plans, assist in enforcing rules.
• Travel frequently across the Districts and drive in varied conditions.
• Interpret maps and locate positions using GPS devices.
• Provide educational assistance to the public.
