Job summary

Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is seeking a Well Recorder Geoscientist II to maintain and monitor a statewide network of groundwater data collection systems. The role involves traveling within Texas, installing equipment, collecting and analyzing hydrogeological data, and producing reports and maps.

The position requires extensive fieldwork, data quality control, and collaboration with the Groundwater Monitoring Department to support state water planning and resource management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field with professional experience preferred.
• Five years of geosciences work experience.
• Licensed Professional Geoscientist by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists.

Responsibilities

• Install/repair recorder equipment, transmitters, sensors and dataloggers.
• Conduct statewide inventories, measure water levels and collect field samples.
• Prepare plans, calculations, and maps; manage and QA/QC data for databases.
