Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew by performing ground-based tasks such as clearing brush and trees and performing job-site clean-up. You will be dispatched by IBEW and work outdoors across varying conditions.

The role requires physical stamina and ability to operate hand tools and light equipment, with safety as a priority. Union-represented position with standard labor duties and site-based responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable of dragging heavy limbs and using chain saws in uneven terrain.
• Able to work outdoors in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Able to wear required PPE and maintain equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce safety rules on site.
• Keep work area clear of debris and hazards.
• Work from ground to clear undergrowth and trim brush using hand tools.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush and debris; feed into chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and public.
• Operate trucks or equipment as assigned; perform basic maintenance.
