Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services is seeking a Groundsperson in the Chattanooga, TN area. This full-time position involves field work related to vegetation management, brush handling, and equipment operation in storm restoration contexts.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to pass background checks and drug screening. CDL is preferred; E-Verify compliance is noted. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• E-Verify compliance for work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Work from the ground to clear debris using handsaws, pole saws, pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gas-powered equipment.
• Define staging areas and set up/break down materials, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare and feed brush into woodchipper.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
• Operate various trucks and equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks/equipment and report major repairs.
• Safeguard employees and the public; flag traffic to protect everyone.
• Be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
