Job summary

ISA Certified Arborist seeks a Groundsperson to assist in vegetation management and storm restoration projects. The role involves working from the ground to clear debris using various hand tools and equipment, loading and unloading materials, and assisting with chipper operations.

Candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and be able to pass background checks and drug screening. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required. CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work from the ground to keep work area clear of debris using handsaws, pole saws and pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gasoline-powered equipment to cut brush and trees.
• Define staging areas.
• Set up and break down material, tools, and equipment as required.
• Prepare and feed brush into woodchipper.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
• Operate various trucks and equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance service on trucks and equipment; keep vehicles in orderly fashion.
• Tie knots, rope breaks, and speed lines per industry standards.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards.
• Flag traffic to protect people from harm or injury.
• Able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
• Groundsperson may be required to work overtime and weekends.

Education
