Job summary

ISA Certified Arborist in North Carolina is seeking a Groundsperson to support vegetation management operations across our service area. The role involves working from the ground to clear debris, assist in loading materials, operating trucks and equipment, and maintaining a safe work site.

It requires the ability to pass background checks and drug screening, and may require overtime or weekend work during emergencies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
Valid Driver’s license required. CDL preferred.
Position requires the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Must meet I-9 requirements and comply with E-Verify.

Responsibilities

Works from the ground to keep work area clear of debris using handsaws, pole saws and pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gasoline-powered equipment.
Define staging areas and set up/break down material, tools, and equipment.
Prepare and feed brush into woodchipper; load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
Operate trucks and equipment; perform basic maintenance and report major repairs.
Tie knots, rope breaks, and speed lines according to industry standards; safeguard people and the public.
Travel for storm restoration work and be available for overtime/weekends.
