Job summary

Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Inc. is seeking a groundskeeper to maintain hospital grounds, perform snow and ice removal, and operate related equipment. The role requires physical ability to lift heavy loads and operate front-end loaders with appropriate licensing where possible.

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Sunday through Wednesday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, onsite at 15 Francis Street. Pay range reflects regional facilities roles and includes benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak and understand English.
• 6-12 months of related experience preferred.
• Current MA class D driver’s license and good driving record required.
• Heavy equipment operator license for front-end loader preferred.
• Requires ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds several times per shift.

Responsibilities

• Performs all phases of snow and ice removal (shoveling, sanding, salting, chopping, plowing).
• Operates mechanical equipment (e.g. sweeper, snowblowers, lawnmower, etc.) safely and according to procedure.
• Performs preventive maintenance on grounds equipment (oil changes, tune ups).
• Maintains horticultural material (trees, shrubs, lawns, flowers) by pruning and mowing.
• Checks street drains and exterior stairwells periodically.
• Collects waste from exterior containers and transports for disposal.
