Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Laborer to join our Facility Services team at Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA. The role performs daily hands-on landscape care across a 160-acre footprint, including mowing, trimming, weed control, debris removal, and seasonal winterization.

You will operate commercial lawn equipment, maintain equipment safely, prune and plant, and support non-growing season projects. The position is hourly, with benefits under the Service Contract Act and opportunities for

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in commercial landscaping, groundskeeping, or industrial facility maintenance preferred.
• Proven ability to operate zero-turn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, and utility cargo vehicles safely.
• Must be able to perform strenuous manual labor outdoors daily in hot summer conditions.

Responsibilities

• Tiered mowing operations with various mower types and turf adjustments.
• Precision detailing, trimming, and edge clipping around parking lots and entrances.
• Hardscape and perimeter sanitation including sweeping and debris hauling.
• Prune and plant new trees, shrubs, flowers, and mulch; manage pruning to shape growth.
• Perform leaf removal, elevate tree canopy lines, and shape dormant shrubs in off-season.
• Preventative fleet maintenance and daily safety checks; participate in shop overhauls.
