This position is located in Aberdeen, MD.

The core working hours are 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Thursday.

The hourly wage is $18.98. This is a non-exempt position. Employees are eligible for overtime pay.

Introduction

The Grounds Maintenance Laborer maintains grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property such as buildings, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, and athletic fields, and repairs structures and equipment. The role involves maintaining attractive grounds, protecting against erosion, and ensuring safety and timeliness in completing assignments.

Responsibilities

1. Perform grounds labor using mowers, hedge trimmers, pruners, and other tools; plant and water vegetation; remove litter; and perform snow removal and repairs.
2. Assist in repairing roads, walkways, buildings, and mechanical equipment; clean facilities and parking areas.
3. Ensure landscaped areas are clean and hazards are removed, including storm drains and litter.
4. Work at heights up to 12 feet using ladders or scaffolding.
5. Respond to emergency situations to resolve safety concerns.
6. Maintain tools and equipment; transport materials as needed.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Primarily outdoor work with exposure to extreme weather, dust, dirt, fumes, and flying debris.

Physical Qualifications

Must be able to stand, walk, and sit equally; lift/carry 60 pounds; push/pull 100 pounds; and perform various physical movements. Must be able to see and distinguish colors, operate equipment, and communicate safety hazards.

Qualifications
