Job Summary

Laborer position for asphalt road construction crews in Venango, Clarion, Forest, Warren, McKean, and Jefferson counties. This position requires a CDL Class A license to drive DOT regulated trucks and trailers. This is a union position.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform all work in a safe manner
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures
  • Shovel asphalt and other materials
  • Luting / raking asphalt and aggregates
  • Set-up and take down temporary work zones
  • Control traffic in and around work zones (flagging)
  • Assist in backing and dumping of triaxles and milling machines
  • Handling of hot liquid asphalt and other materials
  • Remove old asphalt, concrete and other materials using a jackhammer or quickie saw
  • Erect and remove delineating devices such as barrels and cones
  • Seal end joints
  • Help fill water tanks on equipment as needed
  • Compact material with small hand rollers and vibratory plates
  • Operate DOT regulated vehicles
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CDL Class A License
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work long shifts - up to 7 days a week when necessary
  • Must be able to work night shifts when applicable
  • Must be able to withstand long periods of standing / walking / moving without sitting
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to withstand working in seasonal climates
  • Must be able to withstand frequent bending, twisting, scooping
  • Must be able to climb as necessary
