Job summary

Tioga Downs in Nichols, NY is hiring a Grounds Maintenance Engineer to keep our outdoor spaces safe, clean, and visually appealing. In this hands-on role, you will operate company vehicles, perform mowing, landscaping, snow removal, and help set up events.

You will work outdoors, stay active, and contribute to guest satisfaction with a well-maintained property. A High School Diploma or GED and driving license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles as needed.
• Perform routine groundskeeping, including mowing and trimming around walkways, flower beds, and buildings.
• Maintain landscaping by planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, raking, and pruning.
• Keep sidewalks clean and clear of debris; shovel snow and apply ice melt during winter.
• Assist with setup and teardown of special events.
• Maintain cleanliness and security of maintenance buildings and surrounding areas.
• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs in barn areas as directed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Stay active in a physically demanding, outdoor role. This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently). You’ll work in varying weather conditions, around equipment, and in environments that may include noise, strong odors, and horse-related cleanup.
