Tioga Downs is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Engineer to maintain outdoor spaces, operate company vehicles, and contribute to a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment for guests and staff.

The role emphasizes hands-on groundskeeping, physical activity, and a commitment to quality in all weather conditions. Ideal candidates will have a valid driver’s license and prior groundskeeping experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles as needed.
• Perform routine groundskeeping, including mowing and trimming around walkways, flower beds, and buildings.
• Maintain landscaping by planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, raking, and pruning.
• Keep sidewalks clean and clear of debris; shovel snow and apply ice melt during winter.
• Assist with setup and teardown of special events.
• Maintain cleanliness and security of maintenance buildings and surrounding areas.
• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs in barn areas as directed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Stay active in a physically demanding, outdoor role. This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently). You’ll work in varying weather conditions, around equipment, and in environments that may include noise, strong odors, and horse‑related cleanup.
