Job summary

Tioga Downs in Nichols, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance and general repairs, helping keep the facility running smoothly for guests and associates. You’ll handle minor repairs, follow OSHA rules, operate company vehicles, and conduct preventive maintenance on equipment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of maintenance experience, and a valid driver's license.

Maintenance Technician

Tioga Downs is looking for a handyman with a self starter attitude. Our Maintenance Technicians play an important role by performing all routine maintenance and general repairs to keep our facility running smoothly for our guests and fellow associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

• Responsible for all general maintenance and repair of minor problems throughout the complex as directed by immediate supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and radiation. The associate occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When around equipment or mechanical rooms, the noise level may increase to loud.

Maintenance Engineers typically work between 7AM-11PM. Because the Casino is open every day of the year, weekend and holiday availability may be necessary.
