Job summary

SBM is seeking a Grounds Keeper to maintain the grounds of property, including lawns, plantings, and pathways. You will operate mowers and power tools, irrigate and mulch beds, and perform light repairs while following safety procedures.

This role runs Monday through Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with pay ranging from $14.50 to $15.50 per hour. A valid driver's license and basic safety training are preferred. SBM provides comprehensive benefits and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED preferred.
• Six months related experience and/or training preferred.
• A valid driver’s license may be required based on business needs and MVR may be reviewed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features.
• Make minor repairs to fences, gates, or walls.
• Gather, remove, and dispose of trash or waste materials.
• Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants; monitor irrigation to prevent waste.
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges; mow or edge lawns.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, or shrubs and apply mulch; mulch leaves as needed.
• Operate and perform minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment.
• Comply with safety rules and wear PPE; report hazards and stops at risk behaviors.

# **Title:**Grounds Keeper# **Job Description:****Job Overview**The Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. **Roles & Responsibilities**To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.* Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features* Make minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, or walls* Gather, remove, and dispose of trash or waste materials* Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems* Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste* Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipment* Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger* Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools* Rake, mulch, and compost leaves* Operate and perform minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws* Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment.Stops at risk behaviors of others and self* Respond to trouble calls and cleans up spills* Communicate with co-workers, management, and customers and advises on plant selection or care* The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.* Provide information about landscaping services or costs **Qualification**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
