Job summary

SBM Management is hiring a Groundskeeper to maintain estate landscapes and ensure safety and cleanliness across assigned areas. You will lead small projects, manage irrigation, prune trees and shrubs, and operate a range of grounds equipment.

The role requires attention to safety, some supervisory tasks, and collaboration with the house crew for amenities preparation. A high school diploma or GED and driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months related experience and/or training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Commitment to safety policies and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Mow or edge lawns using power mowers or edger.
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges.
• Operate and perform maintenance on grounds equipment.
• Maintain irrigation systems and apply water as needed.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, and mulch for landscape aesthetics.
• Dispose of green-waste and trash.
• Assist house crew with amenities preparation as needed.

Title:GroundskeeperJob Description:Job OverviewThe Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the estate landscape safety, cleanliness, and beauty, specifically in assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, nursery, or other grounds features.Roles & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Stops at risk behaviors of others and selfCommunicate with management and co-workers advise on plant care and/or selectionProvide information about landscaping services and/or costsComfortable leading a small team through short term projectsMow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgerPrune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipmentFell large treesMake minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, roadways, pathways, or wallsOperate and perform regular maintenance/minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as hedge trimmers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, line trimmers, mowers, tractors, UTVs, ATVs, trucks, or pruning sawsMaintain irrigation system and install irrigation materials as necessaryUse irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent wasteWater and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systemsPlant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening toolsApply fertilizer, compost, mulch and other amendmentsGather, remove, and dispose of green-waste and/or trash materialsRespond to “trouble calls”Assist house crew preparing amenities as necessary, including but not limited to boat preparation and/or maintenance and setting kayaks, paddleboards, and ATVsQualificationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
