Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to maintain the grounds of our properties in Wichita, Kansas. The role requires safe operation of hand or power tools and basic maintenance tasks.

You will work with the team to water, prune, mow, plant, and manage irrigation, while following safety policies. The position emphasizes reliability and adherence to SBM's safety standards, with physical duties including lifting up to 35 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED – preferred.
• Six months related experience and/or training – preferred.
• Completed all safety and task training certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of sidewalks, driveways, and grounds features.
• Mow, edge, prune trees and shrubs; plant seeds and mulch.
• Water and irrigate lawns using portable sprinkler systems; adjust irrigation.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Follow safety rules and use PPE; assist with trash removal and plant care.

Other duties may be assigned.* Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features* Make minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, or walls* Gather, remove, and dispose of trash or waste materials* Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems* Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste* Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipment* Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger* Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools* Rake, mulch, and compost leaves* Operate and perform minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws* Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment.Stops at risk behaviors of others and self* Respond to trouble calls and cleans up spills* Communicate with co-workers, management, and customers and advises on plant selection or care* Provide information about landscaping services or costs**Qualification**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
