Job summary

Pike Electric LLC in the United States is hiring a Groundman to support underground distribution system construction and maintenance. You'll assist the crew under the Foreman, performing physical labor and following strict safety protocols on outdoor sites.

This entry-level role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days, willingness to travel long distances, and the stamina to work in varied conditions, including overtime, outages, and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist the crew in constructing, repairing and maintaining underground distribution systems.
• Install and repair underground facilities, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment including backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.).
• Participate in outages, storms, emergencies, and on-call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and understanding of protective equipment.
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods.
• Understand when to wear PPE.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
