Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking a Groundman to join our team, supporting the construction and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems.

You will assist the crew, report to the Foreman, and gain hands‑on experience in a safety‑driven environment. This role requires working outdoors in varied weather, lifting up to 50 pounds, and willingness to travel and accommodate outages and on‑call rotations.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended periods at job locations, including out‑of‑state assignments and overtime.
• Outdoor work in varying environmental conditions and safety‑consciousness required.

Responsibilities

• Assist your team in building, repairing, and maintaining underground electrical distribution systems.
• Help install and repair underground facilities, underground conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment including backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and insulated protective cover procedures.
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods and understand when to wear PPE.
• Perform rigourous physical labor as required by job duties.
