Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems. You will assist the team under a Foreman, perform hands-on field work and travel to various project sites as needed.

This position emphasizes safety, physical stamina, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Overtime, outages, and on-call rotations are part of the role within a collaborative, safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required; CDL training/endorsement preferred with a 60-day window.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice and work out of state.
• Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Labor-intensive field work in varying weather and outdoor conditions.
• Willing to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Safety-first mindset with adherence to PPE and site protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction and maintenance of underground distribution systems.
• Assist with installation and repair of underground facilities and conductors.
• Maintain excavation equipment such as backhoes and trenchers.
• Work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, wind and storms.
• Be available for outages, emergencies and on-call rotations.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE use to isolate potential differences.
• Inspect rubber goods and PPE and understand necessary PPE usage.
• Perform rigorous physical labor as required.
