Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking a Groundman in Lake City, FL to support construction and maintenance of the power grid. You will report to the Foreman and perform essential field labor, safety‑driven tasks, and equipment maintenance in outdoor settings.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, willingness to travel long distances, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Overtime, weekends, and on‑call work are expected. Pike offers a strong safety culture and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Valid driver's license required; CDL within 60 days.
Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Perform new construction, maintain and repair de‑energized powerlines with safety first.
Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
Conduct rigorous physical labor and regularly lift heavy tools and equipment.
Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order.
Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Follow all safety protocols and know when to wear PPE.
