Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is hiring a Groundman to support overhead distribution construction, repair, and maintenance. You will work with a foreman to assist in building and sustaining the power grid, while prioritizing safety and proper PPE usage.

The role involves outdoor work in varied weather, lifting up to 50 pounds, and willingness to travel or be on call for outages and emergencies. A valid driver’s license with CDL eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physically demanding labor including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Acceptable to work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain safety protocols and proper PPE usage at all times.
• Previous utility or construction exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew in constructing, repairing, and maintaining overhead distribution systems.
• Help install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and respond to outages or emergencies.
• Follow safety protocols and properly use PPE to ensure personal and team safety.
