Job summary

OpenAI’s Robotics team is seeking an Inventory Manager to build and operate the inventory function for our SF facilities. This hands-on role starts with establishing stockrooms, receiving areas, and material storage, then scales to multi-site operations.

You will handle receiving, labeling, putaway, picking, cycle counting, transfers, and discrepancies, while partnering with systems teams to implement workflows and controls that keep operations accurate and efficient.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, materials operations, internal logistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Build inventory function from ground up across OpenAI facilities.
• Design stockrooms, receiving areas, and material-storage locations with racks, shelving, bins, labeling, scanners, and workflows.
• Execute core inventory activities: receiving, labeling, putaway, picking, kitting, issuing, cycle counting, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
• Establish receiving procedures to identify, inspect, and quarantine incoming material as needed.
• Hire, train, and manage contractors or on-site inventory administrators as needed.
